Meet the team


Stee Halliday works for Crown Jesus Ministries as the Youth and School’s Coordinator. He lives in Killinchy, is married to the lovely Carey and has a daughter called Sophia. They currently live with 4 dogs, 4 horses, 2 cats and 2 donkeys! He is also a huge sports fan with a particular passion for football and snooker. Stee loves teaching young people about God and engaging with outreach programmes in schools.



Phil Howe works for Scripture Union Northern Ireland as the Training & Resources Manager and lives in the mighty Carrickfergus, is married to the beautiful Lindsay and father of the awesome Oliver and Theo! He loves all things sport and is a Man United and Ulster Rugby fan. He enjoys reading and listening to quality podcasts. His passion is opening up the Bible with young people and making Jesus real to them.



Alison Kernohan works for Logos Ministries International as the Youth & Schools Outreach Coordinator. She lives in Ballymena with her husband Richard and their daughters Karis and Emmy. Alison has a great sense of humour and keeps the guys on the SHINE team on their toes! She is a great communicator and has a passion to see young people follow and serve God.



Geoff works for Scripture Union England and Wales as a Schools Development Worker and is based in NE England. He is married to the amazing Sarah and they have two fantastic teenagers Joel and Hannah. He enjoys time with the family, watching films, cycling and did the Great North Run in 2016 – but does not enjoy running!! Geoff is keen to see young people live for God at school and make a difference for him there.



Emily pioneered the Bus Stop project in York.  She is a qualified double-decker bus driver and the project uses the bus to enable young people to explore the Christian faith and get to know God better.  She is passionate about helping young people discover who God has made them to be.  Originally from Filey on the beautiful East Yorkshire coast, Emily has recently got married and moved to Newcastle with her husband Luke.



Jonny Somerville (@jonnysomers) is a Dublin native who’s served with Scripture Union Ireland for more than ten years working in Irish schools and churches across denominations. He’s passionate about faith development and giving young people the opportunity to explore their faith. Jonny has recently developed Scripture Union’s NUA, an 8 part film series that encourages questions, acknowledges doubt, and offers an engaging perspective on the Christian faith. Eric is a former youth pastor and current youth & schools manager for SU Ireland. He calls Swords in North County Dublin home, and has a passion to see young people find the difference faith in Jesus can make to their every day lives.



ML is a Regional Worker for SU Scotland, who lives in Edinburgh – although is originally from the Scottish Highlands. She enjoys riding her motorbike and playing team sports (although not at the same time). She has a passion for creating opportunities for children and young people to explore the Bible for themselves.
