What information do you ask for?
When you register on the SHINE website, you will give us your name, the name and address of your school and a contact email address.
Why do you need this information?
We use this information to give you access to the SHINE resources including the videos. We will use the supplied email address to keep you informed about SHINE news, resources, Top Tips and plans for the coming year.
The Shine partners may, very occasionally, wish to contact you regarding other news, resources and events that may be of interest to you. You can change your preference regarding these communications at any time by editing your ‘User Profile’.
We will not sell or share your personal information with 3rd parties or charities for marketing purposes.
Who do you share my information with?
You will see when you sign up for SHINE, that this is a joint project run by Scripture Union Northern Ireland, Crown Jesus Ministries, Logos Ministries International and Scripture Union England & Wales, Scripture Union Scotland and Scripture Union Ireland. Staff from each organisation with a restricted password can access the information you supplied. SHINE is a partnership project so although a representative from each organisation can access your information, it will only be for the purposes specified above and for supporting you in delivering SHINE. How is it kept secure?
The registration information may be downloaded on to password protected, and in most cases encrypted, laptops. The spreadsheet will be secured with a password. This data will then be used to contact you via email using Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail or other secure email applications.
The SHINE team may also use Mailchimp to get in touch with you (for further information on Mailchimp, please see our Third parties section below).
The web forms are kept on the SHINE website (for more information on the SHINE website, please see our Third parties section below) and are only accessed by members of the SHINE team who have been given the password .
For how long do you retain my data?
We will use your details to contact and support you before, during and after your SHINE events as well as keeping you informed of plans for the coming year. Your contact details will therefore be held for up to 2 years. We will still ask you however to re-register each year you run SHINE.
Who can register on the Shine website?
To register on the Shine website, you need to be 16 years of age or older. When registering, you will be asked to confirm this.
We may use a third party provider, MailChimp, to send out SHINE mailings. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our mailings. MailChimp is based in the US, but has certified its compliance with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework. For more information please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
SHINE is a partnership between Scripture Union Northern Ireland, Crown Jesus Ministries, Logos Ministries International, Scripture Union England & Wales, Scripture Union Scotland and Scripture Union Ireland. The Shine website (www.shineinschools.com) is hosted by Big Wet Fish (BWF Hostings Limited), registered in Northern Ireland. The servers are located in a fully ISO27001 certified facility in England.
