What is SHINE?

SHINE aims to equip young people to live for God at school and create opportunities for them to explore the Christian faith for themselves.

We aim to inspire teachers, Christian group leaders and pupils across the UK and Ireland to pray for their schools and to motivate them to reach out to others with the Good News of Jesus.  SHINE is a 3 week video resource designed to equip young people to share their faith within school.

Whilst many groups can’t meet at the moment, there are still ways that you can make use of the SHINE resources.  Click here to find out how.

“My group are not Christians”

Do not panic. SHINE can also be used to encourage others to explore faith for themselves.

Typically, SHINE runs at the same time in the Autumn term. There is power knowing a school down the road and on the other side of the country is doing the same thing you are.

This is an opportunity to be part of something bigger across right across the UK and Ireland!

Our hope is that SHINE will encourage a missional mindset for Christians and act as a catalyst to empower young people to SHINE for God in school.

This years’ theme: FEARLESS

We all face fears of many kinds – will people like me? will I fail? will I live up to other people’s expectations? what will happen if I share my faith?

These fears can control us and define us.

They can stop us thriving and living life to the full.

But Jesus doesn’t want us to live like this.

He wants to help us overcome our fears.

SHINE is a partnership between Crown Jesus Ministries, Scripture Union NI, Logos Ministries International, Scripture Union England and Wales, Scripture Union Ireland and Scripture Union Scotland. SHINE has been running in Northern Ireland since 2010, in England and Wales since 2016, in Scotland since 2018 and this year we are delighted to welcome Ireland on board.
